African Continuum Theatre Company produces and presents theater in the nation’s capital from an African-American perspective and experience.

Goals

 

African Continuum Theatre productions, which may be drawn from a universal body of literature, shall reflect an aesthetic rooted in the African and African-American experience, strive for broad audience appeal and endeavor to reveal the interconnectedness of all humanity.

 

African Continuum Theatre will adhere to high standards of artistic expression and presentation, striving always to challenge, uplift and stimulate its audiences through the exploration of new and evolving theatrical forms, as well as the reconsideration of classic works.

 

African Continuum Theatre will provide a training ground for emerging theater professionals, including artists, artisans, and technicians; offer educational opportunities for its community; and demonstrate the ability of live theater to nurture, heal and build bridges between communities.
