Off the Circuit
What is Off the Circuit?
The Off the Circuit Performance Ensemble or Off the Circuit is the African Continuum Theatre Company’s  extended presence that performs at corporations, schools, community events, social organizations, church groups, and senior centers in the Washington metropolitan area.

Why did African Continuum create Off the Circuit?
Off the Circuit was formed to reach out to our patrons. We want to use Off the Circuit to engage and expose the community to a live theatre performance, stimulate  audience development, and to raise the general awareness of the African Continuum Theatre and the quality of our work.

What does Off the Circuit do?
It provides fun, educational, insightful, and  provocative live entertainment that highlights the African American experience and culture.  We do this by:

1. Performing abbreviated scenes from a number of our productions. The themes and scenes are tailored to your specific needs and goals.

2. Pre-performance workshops designed to help make the theater-going experience more enjoyable. Participants examine the characters, themes, story, plot  and text of the play and learn about the various employment opportunities of theater  and proper deportment and theater etiquette.

Where has Off the Circuit Performed?
We have performed for the United States Environmental Protection Agency, Delta Towers, and Strive DC to name a few.

"...I just wanted to send you a note to thank you and your staff again for the awesome diversity training workshop today.  Many of the class participants  called me afterwards to say that it was the best session we've ever offered; I definitely concur."
