How To Eat Plant-Based While Traveling?

It can be difficult to find the right food to eat when you travel, especially if you are a vegetarian.

How do you eat plant-based food when on the road?

Smart packing: Planning is key to staying healthy. You may not have access to the same foods on the road so it is important to pack vegan traveling snacks that provide vital nutrition. You can also pack smoothie shakers, individual packets (with sprouted vegan protein powder), chia seeds. The smoothie will be thinner without the acai or blended banana, but that's okay. It will still contain more than 20 grams of plant-based proteins, omega-3 fatty acids, minerals, and antioxidants.

Gluten-free wraps are also available. These wraps are light and flat so you can put all sorts of stuff in them. They have saved my life zillions of times. You will eat a hummus wrap and avocado wrap in cities where you know that you won't find any salads or other vegetable sides at restaurants before you go out for dinner.

Local produce can be leveraged: Make sure you call your hotel to inquire if they have access to a fridge. This is a great idea. Depending on your location, you can also visit local markets to pick up produce. Avocados, local greens, herbs, spreads, dips such as hummus, and other great items are all great options for travel.
